My story
I am an anthropologist, an aspiring social scientist, systems thinker, and 'occasionally lucky' photographer who loves to explore and collect stories from places that often live on the edges of climate change, politics, and various forms of oppression. I work with communities that are either forgotten or forbidden and where identity is created and changed.
My work examines the genealogies of power in marginal and borderland communities, focusing on how Indigenous systems are systematically subordinated through governance technologies. Drawing on over a decade of professional/academic engagement, my work integrates ethnographic depth with policy-relevant insights on biodiversity conservation, epistemological sovereignty, and relational governance. I have designed and led social innovation programs addressing complex challenges such as unsafe migration, emotional intelligence/social cohesion, inclusion, climate resilience, and well-being capital systems.
I am a storyteller and listener of cultural and environmental narratives of people and communities that are often excluded. An alumnus of the University of Cambridge, University of Freiburg, University of CapeTown and Nanyang Technological University.
I am a student who is learning everyday to shed fragments of inherited patriarchy through my son, and my wife.
